Be Established Near Washington
$600 Million Institution for 2000 Students Will Create Integrated National Consciousness to Make America Invincible
“We will create a new profession in the world: that of professional peacemaker”
—Dr. John Hagelin, President, US Peace Government

Architectural design plans for a new $600 million Maharishi University of World Peace to be built within a 45-minute drive from Washington, D.C., were unveiled by Dr. John Hagelin, world-renowned quantum physicist and President of the US Peace Government, during a global news conference held on Wednesday, April 19, 11 a.m., at the Fairmont Hotel, 2401 M Street, NW, in Washington.
Celebrating “Invincible America” from April 18 to 20 in Washington
The news conference was the center point of three days of grand festivities, from April 18 to 20, to celebrate “Invincible America” in the nation’s capital. Over 100 Global Ministers, Rajas—administrators—and other international leaders and dignitaries of the Global Country of World Peace have assembled for the first time in Washington for a series of peace conferences and banquets, and a gala Potomac river cruise on the Presidential Yacht, the Sequoia.
Maharishi to addresses global news conference via satellite
His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Global Country of World Peace, will addressed the news conference live via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland (www.globalcountry.org).
Maharishi University of World Peace to be dedicated to prevention of war and promotion of peace
Dr. Hagelin said the new Maharishi University of World Peace near Washington will be a flagship university dedicated to the prevention of war and promotion of peace. “It will counterbalance the global proliferation of military academies and graduate war colleges dedicated to advancing the science of war,” said Dr. Hagelin, who is also Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace.
“These peacemakers will be trained in powerful, scientifically proven technologies of consciousness based on the most advanced discoveries of physics, physiology, and neuroscience—and on the Vedic science of consciousness. When practiced in groups, extensive published research shows these technologies markedly reduce crime, terrorism and social conflict; promote peace and social harmony; and can render a nation effectively invincible.
“The cutting edge of science supports this approach to promoting coherent national consciousness for lasting world peace,” Dr. Hagelin said.
Schools, colleges, and universities of world peace are being established worldwide
Dr. Hagelin said Maharishi University of World Peace near Washington is among the thousands of new schools, colleges, and universities of world peace that are now being established worldwide by the Global Country of World Peace. “The coherent influence of these schools—with their expanding numbers of peace-creating students—underlies and supports the recent global upsurge of peace and the resistance to war by governments and individuals worldwide,” Dr. Hagelin said.
Capital of the US Peace Government inaugurated at the Brahmasthan of America in Kansas
Dr. Hagelin’s arrival for the festivities in Washington, D.C., came just two weeks after he inaugurated the new World Capital of Peace and the Capital of the US Peace Government in the Brahmasthan (geographical center) of America, in Washington Township, Smith County, Kansas. The World Capital of Peace will be home to a group of 1,000 peace-creating experts who will promote coherent collective consciousness for the nation and the world.
